Please Note: All classes must be pre-registered prior to start of class. This gives us time to have all materials and class instruction ready for the correct number of students. Class may be canceled if less than 3 students register for a class, unless otherwise noted.

Course Requirements: A Camera – any camera will do. However, to get the most from this course it is best if your camera allows you to manually control your exposure and focus. Bring your camera and camera manual to each class.
"Composition, Contrast, and Color" Oil painting.

$100 for 4 classes. High School age or older. Beginning oil painters or seasoned painters who want to study the golden rectangle/spiral approach to composition.

This will be a fundamentals of painting class. people will not be painting a still life etc.

Class One 10/18 from 12-2pm: Teach about Golden rectangle and Fabonacci numbers. Work in class on drawing the golden rectangle, work on Fabonacci sequence, and golden spiral. We will begin working on value contrast drawings too. Time permitting, students will experiment with putting identifiable shapes, like trees, etc., into golden rectangles. 
*Supplies needed:  sketch pad, pencil(s), gum eraser, and ruler.  A calculator wouldn't hurt.

Class Two 10/25 from 12-2pm: Students will draw, with paint, in black and white, the Fabonacci Sequence on a small canvas.
*Supplies needed: 2 Small canvas boards, 11x14.

Class Three 11/8 from 12-2pm: Learning about how to put paint on a pallet, how to mix paint, different paint mediums, color theory, and hard and soft edges. Discuss brushes. Discuss ventilation. Start putting color paint on top of the black and white.
*Supplies needed: Roll of paper towels.

Class Four 11/15 from 12-2pm: Finish the color painting. Discuss results. Discuss how this concept can be used with any kind of subject matter. Give examples of famous paintings that have the golden theory in them. Tell students how to varnish.
